BYU game :)

So last Friday my mother in law invited me to go to the BYU vs Utah State game. It was my very first college football game and I LOVED it. It was so beyond fun. I thought I was going to lose my voice, but I didn't. BYU was totally sucking the 3rd quarter so I thought "dang, my first college football game I go to they lose." BUT once the 4th quarter came they started doing better. Still losing, but better. Then to make a.long story short the last 15 seconds of the game BYU scored and won the game! It was so awesome! I had such a blast. I wish I had season tickets, but oh well. Here are some pics like always.

Baby Food!!!

So on Saturday Kyree had sweet potatoes for the first time and....SHE LOVED THEM! she ate the whole jar super fast. I can't believe she's getting so big. Her 4 month appointment was the 29th and she weighed 14 lbs and was 24 inches long! oh how time sure does fly. I love feeding her baby food. Sometimes it can be a little tough becausr she'll keep trying to grab the spoon, but its all good. I can't express enough how much I love being a mom. Everyday when im at work and I feel like faking sick or just going home, I look at our little family picture I have on my desk and it reminds me of why I need to work and it gets me through the rest of the day. We are hopefully going to get some family pics this weekend so you'll be seeing those soon.

Well goodnight. Im off to bed.

My girl is simply the cutest.

we've been thinking...

So Matt and I have been thinking a lot about when we want our next baby and some more baby names. Everyone keeps asking Matt if I want to be pregnant again and if we're trying again. The truth is that yeah I would like to be pregnant again. I had the most easiest pregnancy ever. That doesn't mean I want to be right now. Our plan is that we HAVE to be moved out and in our own place. Secondly we have to have a lot saved. We're hoping that now that I have a good paying job we'll be able to save more. So our goal is to have all this ready by next Christmas. I either want to be pregnant or already have the baby. Either way I want one soon. I want want Kyree to be close in age to her other brother/sister. So we'll see. Hopefully everything works out for us. :)

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.

1st time with a spoon!

So the other day I fed Kyree rice cereal for the first time wirh a spoon. She was already so fussy cause I waited to long to feed her, but she eventually calmed down. Anyways, she loved it. It took her a minute to get used to it, but she got it pretty fast. She kept trying to grab the spoon and getting it all over her. Here are some pics from that night.

Rice Cereal

So we have been putting rice cereal in my Kyree's bottle since she was about 2 months. She loves it. So now that she is almost 4 months we want to try and get her used to a spoon, so tonight we are going to try and feed her rice cereal with a spoon and not in her bottle. I want to start giving her some baby food once she turns 4 months so that's why I want her to get used to a spoon. I'm prepared to take a ton of pictures which will probably be posted tomorrow or so. I hope she gets the hang of it fast. She's still doing the "tongue thrust" thing so just hope she stops. :) well i know this is short, but I got a lot of stuff to get done today. Pictures and more to come soon!!

Kyree Melissa Babcock

Kyree,
You are my world. You have made my life a challenge. but the greatest challenge yet. I love you so much. You have made my life so much better. I can't imagine you not ever being in my life. I'm going to try my dang hardest to be the best mommy I can ever be. I know once you get older we'll have our differences, but I hope we are always so close. I want to help you grow to be a strong mom and a great wife someday. Words cannot describe my love for you. It is the greatest in the world. Every time I'm holding you in my arms, I just don't ever want to let go. You are so perfect to me. I love you so much!

I know this is a short post, but I thought i'd better blog something than nothing at all. I know I am a young mom, but I think Kyree came at the most perfect time. She has blessed our lives so much. Even though we have our hard times I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I LOVE YOU KYREE!!!!

Old Wives Tales

The top 10 old wives tales told to pregnant women and new mothers (actually 11)

1. If you have heartburn your baby will have a lot of hair.

"I believe this. I had horrible heartburn and my baby had tons of hair."

2. If the head of your bed points north it will be a boy and if it points south it will be a girl (or vice versa...can't remember).
"I don't know about this...."

3. If there's a lunar eclipse during your pregnancy, make sure to safety pin a key to your clothes over your belly or your baby will have a cleft lip
"Never heard this, but it sounds bizarre"

4. Don't kneel down while pregnant or the umbilical cord will kink, or wrap around the baby, or whatever
"Well I believe I knelt down a lot and my baby didn't have that..."

5If you want to get rid of your "baby belly" quickly after delivery, don't shower for 3 days after the baby's born.
"How in the world would that help???"

6.  If you have any of the following:  1) sex  2) exercise 3)  a bikini wax 4) eat a certain salad dressing at an LA restaurant you will go into labor.
"those are most certainly chances you'll go into labor, but the baby comes when the baby comes."

7.
A fat baby is a healthy baby.
"Agreed, but babies aren't really FAT. If they are eating a lot then they are healthy.

8.  Babies are more sensitive to cold temperatures than adults, so bundle them up.
"Agreed. I always think that if Im cold then she's gotta be freezing!"

8. Cats can steal breath from the mouths of babies.
"never heard this, but here is something from the web..."
Found on the web: Cats can be attracted to a baby's body warmth and the smell of milk. It is sometimes observed that cats try to sit on babies. In some SIDS deaths cat fur has been found in the trachea, or the windpipe.

Be quiet, or you'll wake the baby!
"Actually Kyree loves noise. We have a wave maker and then we always have our tv on in our room and she sleeps just fine. Never wakes up."

10. Don't let babies brace their legs to "stand" on your laps, or they will become bow-legged.
"Don't believe it...but then again i've never heard about it either...better look it up."

11. Outie" belly buttons occur when the doctor cuts or ties the cord incorrectly.
"Interesting...Here's what someone said about it."
“Outies” (technically called umbilical hernias) are very common and they make good sense. When a baby is growing inside the womb, the only source of oxygen and nutrition is through the umbilical cord. When the baby is born, the cord is cut and the baby has to eat and breathe on her own. Meanwhile, that open passageway between the baby’s umbilical cord and the rest of her body won’t necessarily close instantly. The outside of the cord (what you can see when you look at the baby’s tummy) will shrivel up and fall off over several days. Beneath it, inside the abdomen, the area must close as well. Sometimes I takes hours, sometimes days or weeks for the tissues under the belly button to “zip” closed. Sometimes then never do and a child has an outie indefinitely.

I just wanted to write my own little notes/comments on them. Some of them are crazy to me, but they are what they are. You all can write your little comments about them too. I wanna know what some of you think or have experienced.
