Sleeping Positions

Today I am going to discuss different sleeping positions. Personally I think some people go too far on the "what" and "what nots".  Kyree sleeps on her stomach and she has been for a very log time. Probably since she was about a month old if not earlier. Yes I was worried at first about the whole SIDS thing, but I really just got over it. My mom said that my brother slept on his stomach and nothing else. My Mother in-law said that almost all her babies slept on their stomachs. It's good tummy time anyway. Kyree will only sleep on her tummy. I think that it comforts her more. Reminds her of being in my tummy. Which actually makes me feel more comfortable with it. I can just put her right on tummy and she'll calm herself down. She's actually now starting to suck her thumb which is the cutest thing ever. The thing is with SIDS is that at first they said nope can't sleep on the back because if they spit up they will choke. Then they say the tummy is the source because they will suffocate. I know now that they've done more studies and sleeping on their tummy's is a higher risk of SIDS. All I really know is that since we've been putting Kyree on her tummy she sleeps better and has very good head/neck control. We always have an eye on her when we're not in the room and she's been just fine. We've had nothing to worry about. I guess this whole little post is just me trying to say that its ok to not follow what the doc's say or what magazines say. I trust my parents and in-laws and their experiences. I learn on my own everyday from the choices I tend to make. Every mother has their own way of thinking, learning, and teaching for their child.

cutest thing ever!
